C AND G Show won the battle of the bottom two teams in the latest round of Redditch Skittles League matches.

In a match against Bernie’s Bolts, C and G Show took maximum points to leave the Bolts winless and bottom of the table.

The two teams went into the game level on points as Dave Orton (37), Lily Orton (36) and Keith Edwards and Paul Hollis (both 35) inspired C and G Show to victory.

C and G Show led by two pins after the first leg and stretched their advantage to 10 pins after winning legs two and three.

And a poor fourth leg score from the Bolts allowed C and G Show to take a commanding 24-pin lead.

C and G Show produced another good score in the final leg with the Bolts unable to score the 90 pins required for victory.

For the Bolts, Andy Gill-Smith (34), Craig McSweeney (33) and Paul Blayney (32) top scored.

Elsewhere, the Borough failed to back up last week’s success in defeat against Jumbo Jet Set.

The Borough narrowly won both the first and last leg but could not match Jumbo Jets in-between.

The fourth leg proved pivotal as the Jets increased their lead to 18 pins with the Borough unable to score the 80 pins required for victory.

For Jumbo Jets, Dennis Compton (38) and Rich Johnston and Dave Marriott (both 36) top scored.

And for the Borough, Steve Mears (37), Michelle Court (35) and Steve Court and Scott Few (both 34) all impressed.

And in a top-of-the table clash Engineers beat at out-of-sorts Lodge Farmers.

The Farmers produced their lowest team total of 293 points for several years.

Engineers took a 12-pin lead after the first leg as Farmers responded to win leg two by two pins.

However, Engineers restored their 12-pin lead at the end of leg three.

A fourth leg score of 74 pins put Engineers in control with the Farmers only able to respond with 59 pins.

And Engineers easily scored the 25 pins required for victory as the victors took the last leg.

For Engineers, Mark Ganderton (46, 12 and 11 stacks), Andy Clewlow (36) and Luke Sanders (35) top scored.

For Lodge Farmers, Richard Long and Paul Cotton (both 34) and Lynne Pemberton and Glyn Morley (both 33) impressed.
