SKITTLES - Jets beat Bolts to stay third

Redditch Editorial 16th Dec, 2022 Updated: 21st Dec, 2022   0

THE Redditch Skittles League continued with just two matches taking place last week.

Bernie’s Bolts took a three-pin lead at the end of the first leg against Jumbo Jets only for the latter side to turn the game in their favour by a five-pin margin in the second leg.

And Bolts bowled well to share legs three and four to remain just five pins adrift only for Jets to produce a fine last leg score thanks to Dennis Compton’s 13 stack.

Bolts were left 73 to win but fell narrowly short despite making their best leg score of the game as Mark West and Dave Williams made 35 each whilst Jets bowler Compton finished with 46 and Dan Hill and Ray Jones 37 each.

In the other game, C and G Show ended a three-game losing run with victory against Nomads despite the latter side taking the first leg by a single pin.

However, C and G Show won each of the next three legs to open up a 16-pin lead heading into the final leg as Nomads fell just short of the 74 pins needed to win the game.

C and G Show’s in-form bowler Aaron Evans scored 36 (11 stack) and Paul Hollis and Andy Maine made 35 each whilst Nomads’ Eddie Upright scored 36 (10 stack) and Mac Eaton 35.
