THE latest round of matches in the Redditch Skittles League saw two teams claim big victories with the other game settled by just eight pins.
Jumbo Jet Set took maximum points against nine-man C and G Show who had to field a player less due to last-minute unavailability.
The Jets secured a 35-pin win after leaving their opponents a near impossible 116 pins for victory in the last leg.
For Jumbo Jets, Rob Quartly (43, 13 stack), Rich Johnston (38) and Len Quartly (37) top scored while Dave Charlesworth (36), Lily Orton (34) and Keith Edwards (32) all impressed for C and G Show.
Elsewhere, Engineers beat Nomads after leaving their opponents 118 pins for victory in the final leg.
Nomads still gained a consolation point after winning the final leg with Engineers 45 pins ahead after leg two as Craig Ellis produced consecutive stacks of 15 pins.
And Nomads edged leg three before Engineers win leg four and the former side took the last leg by a single pin.
For Engineers, Ellis (48) and Brandon and Joe Kelso (both 37) top scored while Mac Eaton (45, 11 stack), Jim Child (37) and Alan Cummings (33) all impressed for Nomads.
Lastly, league leaders Lodge Farmers scraped to victory against Bernie’s Bolts despite only needing 40 pins for victory in the final leg.
Farmers won each of the first four legs comfortably only to suffer a wobble in leg five as The Bolts took the final leg.
For Lodge Farmers, Rachel Morris (37, 14 stack), Andy Whittle (36) and Paul Cotton (34) top scored while Paul Blayney and Dan Goodman (both 35) and John McSweeney (34) all impressed for Bernie’s Bolts.
