LODGE Farmers clinched a two-pin win against C and G Show in a close game whilst Bernie’s Bolts and Jumbo Jet Set were also victorious.
Rachel Morris produced a stack of 14 at the perfect time with Lodge Farmers six pins adrift at the end of leg two only to turn the tables and lead by eight pins after leg three.
However, C and G Show won leg four to reduce the deficit to six pins only to fall agonisingly short of the 67-pin total required to win the match.
Tim Jones (39), Morris (38) and Jamie McGill (35) top scored for Lodge Farmers whilst Rich Fisher (36), Angela Guest and Dave Orton (both 35) were on form for C and G Show.
Jumbo Jet Set secured an eight-pin win against Nomads as the lead changed hands three times with the latter side four pins ahead after the first leg only for the former team to lead by 13 at the end of leg two.
Nomads responded to lead by a single pin at the end of leg three but fell a pin behind ahead of the final leg as Jumbo Jets scored the required 57 pins for victory.
Rob Quartly (38, 12 stack), Mick Stanton (36) and Rob Rowberry and Len Quartly (both 34) top scored for Jumbo Jets whilst Alan Spreckley (39), Bob Browning (37) and Eddie Upright (35) were on form for Nomads.
Lastly, league leaders Bernie’s Bolts opened up an 18-pin lead after two legs against Swingers who reduced the deficit to 10 pins at the end of leg three.
However, Bernie’s Bolts scored 74 in leg four compared to Swingers’ 52 as the leaders easily knocked over and surpassed the 23 pins required for victory in the final leg.
Mark Andrews (42), Jim Williamson (40) and Dan Goodman (37) top scored for Bernie’s Bolts whilst Rob Baker (36), Janine Brennan (34) and Cody Baker (33) were on form for Swingers.
