THE Borough stunned Jumbo Jet Set with a huge last leg score to continue their resurgence in the Redditch Skittles League.

The Borough needed a mammoth 77 pins to win the game in the final leg as Scott Few’s heroics left Jumbo Jet Set stunned.

Few needed a 14-stack to secure the victory and took all nine pins with his first ball only to miss with his second ball.

However, he took another eight pins with his final ball as the Borough claimed a third victory from their last four matches.

Few finished on 39 pins (17 stack) while teammates Michelle Court and Steve Court both finished on 36 pins.

For Jumbo Jet Set, Dennis Compton (43, 13 stack) top scored while Liz Rowberry (35) and Pete Battle-Welch (34) both impressed.

Elsewhere, league leaders Lodge Farmers suffered their first defeat of the season against reigning champions and title rivals Engineers.

Lodge Farmers still won three legs to hold a slight advantage over Engineers in the title race.

Engineers took a nine-pin lead after leg one before Lodge Farmers took the next two legs to reduce the deficit to just three pins.

However, Engineers produced a match-winning score of 75 in leg four as Lodge Farmers picked up a consolation point by winning the last leg.

For Engineers, Craig Sears (38) top scored while Brandon Kelso, Andy Clewlow, Maurice Wroe and Josh Kelso (all 34) impressed with the latter recording a 15 stack.

And for Lodge Farmers, Andy Whittle (46, 15 and 11 stacks), Richard Long (36, 12 stack) and Jamie McGill (34, 13 stack) top scored.

Lastly, Bernie’s Bolts played out a rare draw with C and G Show.

The two teams halved the first leg before both sides won two of the remaining four legs to end of the same number of pins.

For Bernie’s Bolts, Paul Blayney (35) and Jess Andrews and Craig McSweeney (both 34) top scored while Dave Orton (36), Angela Guest (35) and Bryan Smith (34) impressed for C and G Show.
