THE game between C and G Show and Jumbo Jet Set produced two unwanted Redditch Skittles League records.

The fixture saw the lowest total pins scored by two teams in a game and was the first match where neither side managed to score 60 pins or more in a leg.

C and G Show led by a single pin at the end of leg one with leg two shared before Jumbo Jets took a two-pin lead after leg three.

Jumbo Jets extended their lead to four pins and scored 58 in the final leg to leave C and G Show needing 63 pins which the latter side were unable to achieve.

For Jumbo Jets, Mick Stanton and Len Quartly (both 37) and Dan Hill (34) top scored while Aaron Evans (40, 12 stack), Angela Guest (35) and Dave Orton (32) impressed.

Another close encounter ensued between Engineers and Bernie’s Bolts as the latter side went close to denting the former’s title chances.

Bolts raced into a 12-pin lead after taking both of the opening two legs and still led by eight pins despite Engineers winning leg three.

However, Bolts produced the lowest leg score of the game to allow Engineers to turn the match on its head in leg four and lead by two pins with Bolts unable to score the 65 pins required for victory in the final leg.

For Engineers, Jo Kelso (38), Maurice Wroe (36) and Craig Sears and Andy Clewlow (both 35) top scored with Andy Gill-Smith (43, 16 stack), Lewis McSweeney (34) and Mark Andrews (33) on form for Bolts.

And league leaders Lodge Farmers eventually saw off bottom side The Borough with the game all squared after the first two legs.

Farmers pulled away from their opponents thereafter to secure a comfortable win as the leaders registered their highest team total of the season to stretch their lead at the top by a point.

For Farmers, Glyn Morley (42, 14 stack), Lynne Long (40) and Rachel Morris (39) top scored while Kim Workman (36), Andrew Taylor (33) and Julian Workman, Michelle Court, Rhiannon Watson and Steve Court (all 30) impressed for The Borough.
