STUDLEY will be desperate for victory to ease their relegation worries when they head to fellow strugglers Attock Seconds on Saturday (12.30).

Third-from-bottom Studley lie three points ahead of second-bottom Attock as the pair meet on the back of defeats last weekend. However, Attock took two points in their loss to Leamington Spa Seconds while Studley finished pointless from thier eight-wickets defeat at home to Nether Whitacre.

Studley’s batters struggled for runs as they finished on 116-7 from their 50 overs, with only Raheem Basharat, batting at No 8, top-scring with 45 not out.

Only Chris Perrins from the other batsmen got into double figures as Joe Danks led the Nether Whitacre attack with 4-30 off his ten overs.

Openers Steve Rawlings (35) and Connor Greaves (47) set up the visitors’ victory charge with an 80-run partnership and Nether Whitacre reached their target after just 25 overs.

Studley Seconds were beaten by five wickets on Duckworth-Lewis by hosts Bronze in Great Barr.

Studley had finished on 200-7 in their 50 overs but Bronze then got to 175-5 in 30 overs to win by five wickets.

Studley are at home to Stockton Star 2nds on Sunday.
