SWIMMING - Redditch SC celebrate success at Worcester County Championships

REDDITCH Swimming Club won a remarkable 135 medals competing over three weekends at the Worcester County Championships.

Overall, Redditch claimed 35 gold, 47 silver and 53 bronze medals including 17 junior and senior podium placings with seven swimmers crowned champion in their respective category.

The long distance swims took place at Wolverhampton WV Active swimming pool with the next two meetings held at Perdiswell Leisure Centre and the Commonwealth swimming pool at Sandwell Aquatics Centre.

With more than 60 Redditch swimmers qualifying to compete, the club’s athletes set a number of new personal best (PB) times and reached a combined total of 213 finals.

Lexi Agoston starred for Redditch with victories in the 50m and 200m breaststroke and 400m freestyle while Hannah Willis triumphed in the 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly.

And Harry Chandler claimed victory in the 100m and 200m butterfly and the 400m freestyle with Orla Power claiming race wins in the 50m and 100m backstroke.




There was also success for Henry Foster in the 200m backstroke and 50m freestyle while Owen Perry tasted victory in the 100m individual medley.
