SWIMMING - Wilkes wins silver at World Aquatics Masters Championships

REDDITCH Swimming Club captain Paul Wilkes won silver competing at the World Aquatics Masters Championships in Doha, Qatar.

Wilkes claimed silver in the 200m butterfly event in a time 2 minutes 10.28 seconds as he set a new British record in his age group.

And he also set a new British record for his age group in the 100m butterfly as he finished fifth on his birthday in a time of 58.44 secs.

Upon his return to training at the club, Wilkes received a guard of honour from fellow Redditch members.
