The Redditch club had four winners – Kirk Wright 21-16, Neil Laxton 21-14, John Bridger 21-11 and Tim Hollingshead 21-12.

They went four shots up on the board when last man Denis Turner went 17-15 up in his tie, but he was pegged back and lost 21-18 as the hosts took 14 points to White Hart’s four.

White Hart did achieve an away victory over Alcester A in Heart of England Division One. The A team had four winners – Tim Hollingshead 21-11, Paul Matthews 21-7, Ray Richards 21-4 and captain Ian Humphreys 21-16.

The two teams occupy the bottom two places in the league, but this win pulls Hart further away from their rivals.

The B team narrowly defeated British Oak A 146-134 in Division Four with four winning bowlers – Brian Chatterley 21-16, Gill Croft 21-15, Gary Bennett 21-14 and captain Norman Batchelor 21-5.

They are now in second place, five points behind Henley B.

The over 60s A team went close to a fine victory at Green Man A in Division One but eventually lost 115-110. They had two winners in the shape of Norman Batchelor 21-19 and captain Mike Estell 21-12.

The B team earned a hard fought 103-94 home victory over Woodlands Park A in Division Two thanks to wins from Anne Batchelor 21-12, Mick Perrins 21-13 and captain Brian Chatterley 21-6, while Kirk Wright fought back from being well behind to lose out by a single shot.
