White Hart stretch lead after Tyseley thrashing

Redditch Editorial 12th Jul, 2017   0

WHITE Hart increased their lead at the top of Warwickshire and Worcestershire Premier League Division Six after a comfortable 257-127 home victory over Tyseley WMC.

They had all 12 winners in a Warks/Worcs League match for the first time in many years and the win was highlighted by single-figure cards from Stuart Rice 21-5, Gary Bennett 21-6 and 21-8 scores from Sheila Humphreys, Dave Edwards, Dave Kings and Mick Perrins.

The Redditch club now head the table by three points from Marston Green with seven matches to play.

In Heart of England League Division One, White Hart are nowhere near as comfortably placed and currently occupy a relegation place following a heavy 158-104 defeat at Tanworth A.

Hart had only one winner in Paul Matthews 21-11 and are now 23 points from safety.

In SW Birmingham Over 60s League Division One, Hart’s A team struggled in defeat at Kings Norton.

The vastly experienced Norman Batchelor was their only winner, leaving them in a lower mid-table position.

The B team, however, comfortably beat Olton A, turning around an away defeat by them the week before.

Wins for Kirk Wright and Sheila Humphreys (both 21-8), Tom Hawkes 21-12, Sue Sugden 21-16 and Anne Batchelor gave them valuable points in their attempt to avoid relegation from Division Three this season.
