READERS have just over a week to send in their nominations for the 2015 Herefordshire & Worcestershire Sports Awards.
The closing date for nominations is Friday, August 28 as preparations continue for the glittering event at Worcester Warriors’ Sixways stadium on November 4.
Bullivant Media – publisher of the Standard – is sponsoring the headline Sports Personality of the Year award and, whilst this will accolade will be decided by a public vote of pre-selected finalists chosen by a panel, you can send us your suggestions as to who you would like the panel to consider by e-mailing your thoughts to [email protected].
For the other 13 categories, members of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire community have been putting forward candidates who they feel deserve recognition for their sporting achievement and dedication to sport within their community and you have until noon on August 28 to do likewise.
The categories for which you can nominate your sporting favourite are: Senior Male/Female Sports Person of the Year; Junior Male/Female Sports Person of the Year; Coach of the Year; Young Volunteer of the Year; Junior Team of the Year; Community Club of the Year; Disabled Sports Person of the Year; Volunteer of the Year; Unsung Hero; Community Project of the Year; BBC Newcomer (new nomination criteria).
