FECKENHAM Cricket Club’s picturesque Mill Lane ground features on the cover of The Cricketer magazine’s 2024 calendar.

The Cricketer is the world’s oldest cricket magazine and has been in circulation for more than 100 years.

And Feckenham CC chairman Bob Gordon admitted it was a huge surprise to hear the club’s ground would feature as the cover photograph of The Cricketer’s 2024 calendar.

Gordon said: “It was quite a shock, we know we’ve got a very picturesque ground, particularly in the summer.

“A photographer took some pictures in the summer and it turns out he was the photographer who has put together the calendar.

“It’s a very picture-postcard, English country cricket ground, we were surprised given it’s a national magazine.

“It would be nice [to get some more faces through the gate], we’re tucked away in a small village so we’re easily missed.

“Getting more people down here to enjoy a game of cricket and a pint of beer in the summer would be very pleasing.”

The calendar shows photographs from the most picturesque village cricket clubs in the country.

Founded by villagers in 1959 the club currently has three senior teams in the Worcestershire County League and five junior teams.
