ALVECHURCH have appointed Tim Flowers as the club’s new manager.
Flowers suddenly departed Church’s local rivals Redditch United yesterday and has now made the move to Lye Meadow.
Church have acted swifty to replace former boss James Fry who was sacked with the club just one point above the Southern League Premier Central relegation zone.
Flowers only took charge at Redditch in the summer and left the club just outside of the play-off places.
He previously managed Bromsgrove Sporting and helped the Rouslers retain their Step Three status last season.
Flowers will take charge of Alvechurch following the club’s Birmingham Senior Cup tie against Highgate United in midweek.
As a player, goalkeeper Flowers earned 11 caps for England and famously lifted the Premier League trophy with Blackburn Rovers in 1994/95.
Redditch have since appointed Matt Clarke as their new manager.
