ALVECHURCH failed to end their miserable run of form after losing 2-0 against Banbury United which proved Tim Flowers’ final game in charge of the club.
Church boss Flowers resigned from his role after Alvechurch suffered a seventh successive league defeat against Banbury at Lye Meadow.
Goals from George Ball and Connor Ferguson condemned Church to another defeat while Alvechurch have also failed to score in any of their last six league matches.
The result leaves Alvechurch 18th in the Southern League Premier Central table, just one place and eight points above the relegation zone.
Banbury broke the deadlock on 42 minutes when Ball drilled a powerful shot past Redman Evans at his post after racing in-behind the Church defence.
And the visitors struck again on 79 minutes as substitute Ferguson volleyed Keegan Bloom’s cutback past Evans from six-yards out.
Alvechurch are next in action against Worcester City on Tuesday, November 25 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Lye Meadow.
