FOREST Green Rovers boss Robbie Savage has confirmed Alvechurch loanee Jose Marquez has returned to the club following the conclusion of his loan spell.
Marquez enjoyed a prolific loan spell with Church – scoring six goals in as many appearances which includes a hat-trick against Leamington in the FA Cup.
He also found the net and provided two assists for parent club Forest Green against Wolverhampton Wanderers under-21s in the National League Cup in midweek.
And Savage confirmed the 19-year-old has impressed enough to earn a place in Forest Green’s first team squad following the conclusion of his loan spell.
Savage said: “Jose will be staying [at Forest Green].
“He’s scored six goals in six games. Everybody wants him. I’ve had three or four manager’s on the phone.
“He’s now done enough, he’s listened, he took the advice, he went to play. Tim Flowers has done great with him.
“He’s one of our own. It would be unfair on him now for us to send him out on loan again after that performance [against Wolves].
“That performance and the way he’s conducted himself, he’s a great kid, he’s earned the right to stay with us.
“He won’t be going out on loan again. Jose will be staying.”
