Millers relishing exciting campaign

Redditch Editorial 7th Mar, 2019   0

FECKENHAM are busily preparing themselves for the start of their Worcestershire League Premier Division campaign next month.

The Millers finished last season with their highest-placed finish and have been rewarded with a place in the new Worcestershire League Premier Division.

This league has been created as part of a major blueprint for regional cricket throughout England and Wales and sees Feckenham, together with five other Worcestershire League clubs, join six Worcestershire-based Birmingham League clubs in this newly-formed division.

Feckenham’s Nick Reddish said: “This will provide some mouthwatering local derbies with Feckenham playing games against Astwood Bank, Redditch, Evesham and Pershore.

“Feckenham will also have a second XI playing in Division Five and a third XI in Division 12SE of the new county league set-up.”

Whilst members are busy getting the ground ready for the new season, the players have already started indoor training at Alcester Grammar School sports hall on Sundays from 11am to noon.

The club are always looking for new players of all standards and interested players are welcome to attend the indoor nets or contact Reddish on 07802 212125 or via email at [email protected].

The club are also interested in hearing from anyone who is interested in scoring for the 1st XI this season. Playing in the new Premier Division, the club are required to score online using a laptop, which would be provided, as would training in the use of the software. Contact details are the same as above.
