Siblings gear up for Isle of Man experience

Redditch Editorial 25th Apr, 2017   0

REDDITCH siblings Ryan and Lauren Oldfield are preparing to compete in the prestigious Isle of Man Youth Tour over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Nearly 300 riders from across Britain will descend on the island to compete in three days of exciting racing.

Ten-year-old Ryan and eight-year-old Lauren, better known as Beany, have already had considerable success in their racing careers with Ryan taking the West Midlands Cyclo-cross U10 title this year and both winning their respective British Schools titles last year.

Later in 2017 they will be travelling to Assen, Holland, to compete in the six-day European Junior Cycling Tour which will feature more than 800 riders from 19 countries.

Ryan and Beany are supported by The Cycle Studio of Redditch, which will ensure their bikes are in tip-top condition for their races.

Store manager Alex Keeling-Morgan said: “We are very proud to be associated with such talented young riders and wish them every success in both the Isle of Man and Assen.”

The duo’s proud father Chris added: “We are all really looking forward to both events. It will be a brilliant experience and a great opportunity to see some of Europe’s best young riders in action.

“My thanks to The Cycle Studio for their support in the build-up to this weekend and good luck to Ryan and Beany. I just hope my nerves can stand all the excitement!”
